Short Synopsis Driven by despair and poverty, a man sets out to buy a rope to end his suffering, only to find he cannot afford even that. As he follows a stray rope lying on the street, his path intersects with two others — his landlord’s daughter and a weary porter resting by the roadside. Bound together by this single thread, their silent encounter becomes a moment of awakening, revealing the shared burden of existence and the quiet resilience that keeps life moving forward. Through poetic imagery and restrained emotion, the film explores the fragile connections that tether humanity to hope — reminding us that even in the darkest hour, life offers unexpected grace. The rope of Hope Why was seeing the man a bad omen? The slipper upside down is considered bad luck, since the old man leaves his slipper upside down and the boy is about to check his lottery on phone, he is pissed seeing the slipper upside down. Who is the actor that played the main character? His name is Naur, this is his debut film, he came to my audition and he’s nailed the audition, got the role. Who was at the classmates Nikita wedding? Who did the main character call? It’s a metaphor again, he is socially isolated and stays home. He doesn’t even have idea about her good friend Nikita’s wedding. He feels lonely and not in a good mental state. What is the shoe laying in the street about? You said it’s a cultural metaphor? Yes, you see the old man left his slipper upside down and that is considered bad luck but through this film it suggests it’s a myth because his good days come even after seeing that slipper which is upside down. Does the picture have significance to a metaphor or is it just for the short film? Yes, he likes painting and he expresses himself through painting. He feels he is worthless but he has a great potential in painting which at the end of the film he gets an offer to work with the legendary painting. The two photos on the wall are of his late parents. So is the story about not giving up hope even when faced with a horrible situation? And then it shows him finding his purpose as a painter? The film is simply about hope but there are other sub positive messages in the film but main focus is on hope.
